In 2012 Alastair started with 4 Saddleback pigs and fell in love with keeping pigs and processing his own meat. The herd soon grew and within 1 year they had increased the herd size to 30 pigs. Alastair then invested in breeding stock and today the farm breeds all their own meat pigs which ensures full traceability.

Alastair is passionate about high welfare for the animals. All the pigs are free range all year round and enjoy a natural cereal diet sourced locally and supplemented with local vegetables. The Corndale pigs are happy pigs!

In 2016 Corndale Farm spotted a gap in the market for Northern Irish made charcuterie and set about developing their own air dried Spanish style Chorizo. It was the first of its kind in Northern Ireland and received massive demand. Corndale now produce a number of charcuterie products including Chorizo, Chilli Chorizo, Salami and whole muscle cuts. They supply direct to trade and customers can order direct from their website.
Corndale Farm have won many awards for their products including winning 2 awards at the 2022 Blas Na hEireann Irish Food Awards – Gold for Fennel Salami and Silver for Buffalo Bresaola. Their chorizo picante also won 3 stars at the 2022 Great Taste Awards.

Corndale also offer bespoke outside catering packages and hog roasts to customers throughout Northern Ireland & Ireland. They can cater for a wide range of events and specialize in whole hog spit roasts. Whether it’s a birthday, a wedding, or that special celebration they will provide a first class service with truly mouth-watering produce.

Corndale Farm also run regular workshops including a Charcuterie and Home Curing Course and Sausage Making Course where customers can come to Corndale HQ and learn some light butchery and pick up new skills.
