Created four years ago, the UK Slow Food Awards are a powerful platform to showcase local producers and hospitality venues who epitomise and promote the Slow Food ethos of Good, Clean and Fair in their daily operations.
These awards are truly democratic – with no prior shortlisting, the winners are simply chosen by whoever gets the most votes. Our destination has been successful over the years with 2020 winners including Ursa Minor – Best Baker and Native Seafood and Scran picking up Best Restaurant/Food Eatery. Previous winners include The French Rooms Best Restaurant/Food Eatery and Broughgammon Farm and Corndale Farm.
Voting for this year’s awards is now live and in this, our first year as an accredited Slow Food destination we would like to make an even bigger impact than before. It’s your chance to vote for your favourite baker, market, fishmonger, butcher, cheese-monger, grocer, restaurant and product, so that we can celebrate the true food heroes in our land.
You get to vote for your favourite in our region – Northern Ireland. Whoever gets the most votes in the category wins the award for that nation. Whoever gets most votes overall, gets crowned Best in the UK.
There is no shortlist of names for you to choose from. These are truly democratic awards – whoever gets the most votes (but you can only vote once!) wins.
Plus, if you would like to be entered into the prize draw, you can win a case of Chapel Down Brut for voting, which will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Voting ends 30th November, with the winners announced on 10th December.
