No holiday on the North Coast is complete without Morellis famous ice cream.

The company has been making their award winning ice cream since 1911. For more than five generations, the Morelli family has been making its award-winning ice cream using fresh double cream and butter from the historic Ballyrashane Creamery.

In addition to its iconic, world-renowned Portrush store, the company now has stores in Portstewart and Ballycastle, and franchises throughout Ireland.

The Morelli family’s connection to Northern Ireland began when their great uncle Peter Morelli – left his southern Italian homeland in search of work and a better life.

He and his brothers established cafes and ice cream parlours throughout Great Britain and Ireland and were so successful that, more than a hundred years later, the family name is synonymous with fantastic ice cream.

The company specialises in a wide range of ice creams, waffles and sundaes all prepared to the award-winning Morelli recipe.

Among the company’s most successful and popular flavours are their Mango Sorbet, Strawberry Ice Cream and Passionfruit Sorbet.

One of their most popular and successful dishes is the sensational affogato – in which a scoop of ice-cold ice cream is placed in a bowl and a hot espresso coffee is poured over it.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Morellis are widely respected and this is reflected in the number of awards that they have received.
