Originally, The Distillers Arms was home to the Bushmills Distillery owners, spending some years as lodgings and as a pub before being converted to the bespoke restaurant. Gary Stewart, chef and owner of Tartine retained many of its original features as the history of the locale interconnects with the present.

At Tartine, the team prides themselves on the simplicity of their cooking style and the quality of the raw ingredients. Their mission is simple: serve delicious, affordable food that guests will want to return to week after week.

In the summer of 2021 Gary launched Tartine’s own Pickle Sauce which is available to buy in the restaurant or in top quality delis and farm shops on the Causeway Coast.

Made in small batches and bottled at the restaurant this tasty pickle sauce is the perfect accompaniment with cheeses, charcuterie, burgers and in sandwiches.  At Tartine it is served alongside their Irish Cheeseboard and with their baked Camembert sharing starter. Ingredients include local apples, spices and a generous splash of Black Bush Whiskey.

The Distillers Pickle sauce won Gold in the Irish Food Awards / Blas na hEireann in 2021 and 1 gold star in the Great Taste Awards the following year.

In summer 2022 the Distillers Raspberry and Apple sauce was launched. It too is made in small batches and uses the best local ingredients. Armagh apples laden with flavour are infused with ripe raspberries and a generous splash of local Bushmills Whiskey to create a taste sensation. A slight hint of Cinnamon and Clove provide the backdrop flavour and ensure that this sweet sauce goes well with desserts, scones, ice creams and even in cocktails!
