  • Movie Nights at Bushmills Inn

Thursday 11th August, 6pm “The Duke”

Throughout the summer months Bushmills Inn will be running their Thursday Movie Nights (fortnightly instead of weekly). The evening includes a 2 course dinner with tea / coffee in the restaurant at 6pm, followed by a movie in the 30 seater boutique cinema at 8pm.

  • Slow Cocoa

5th August, 7pm to 10pm

Slow Food Causeway presents this intimate evening showcasing the very finest local slow food produce, paired with exquisite single origin chocolate.

Chef Patron of the acclaimed Tartine at the Distillers Arms in Bushmills, Gary Stewart will join the Chocolate Manor’s Chief Chocolatier, Geri Martin, to take guests through an exciting journey of savoury and sweet dishes, some of which will be paired with stunning wines.

Gary will introduce guests to Slow Food, through a selection of four tantalising tapas style dishes, some of which will incorporate the indulgent single origin chocolates available at The Chocolate Manor.

During the event guests will be introduced to Giant’s Basalt Gin, the Causeway’s newest Distillery, by founders James Richardson and Martha Garbe, who will be on hand to describe the unique distilling process they have designed to create this stunning new gin.


Guests will then explore the 5 steps to tasting chocolate, guided by chocolatier Geri, by savouring 10 sustainably sourced chocolates from across the globe, before sampling a selection of specially created gin truffles and treats, handcrafted by the Chocolate Manor team in Castlerock.

  • The Taste Causeway Chocolate Experience

19th August, 7pm to 9:30pm

The Chocolate Manor are proud to have been a founding member of Taste Causeway and in their Taste Causeway Experience, you will be introduced to an exclusive selection of local artisan products and learn how to pair them with the finest chocolate.

You will handcraft a delectable collection of chocolate truffles and during each Taste Causeway experience Chief Chocolatier Geri Martin will guide you through making ganaches with the stunning selection of local artisan products.

The Chocolate Manor will introduce you to:

Causeway Coffee, locally roasted award-winning coffee blends, which they incorporate into a fabulous coffee milk truffle;

Dundarave Estate, who produce the finest range of jams and chutneys on their stunning estate just a stone’s throw from the Giant’s Causeway. Their County Antrim apple orchard also inspired Geri to create a toffee apple truffle;

Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil, multi-award-winning oil, with the oilseed grown and bottled just fifteen miles from our workshop. The Chocolate Manor have crafted an amazing dark chocolate and chilli truffle using their stunning chilli oil;

Mussenden Sea Salt – harvested off Castlerock Beach, just a few steps outside our door, this Atlantic sea salt is the perfect ingredient for the salted caramel truffle;

Bushmills Whiskey – for over 400 years, this iconic whiskey has been produced just along the Causeway Coastal Route. The Chocolate Manor are delighted to have partnered with the Old Bushmills Distillery to develop a recipe for the ultimate whiskey truffle.

  • The Chocolate Box

20th August, 2:30pm to 4pm

Do you want to acquire some basic chocolate tempering skills in a fun and hands on workshop? This experience is for you.

Led by Chief Chocolatier, Geri Martin you will begin by learning the fundamentals of working with chocolate at home and learning which equipment you need. You will then move on to hands-on chocolate making, to create a delicious selection of flavoured chocolates using ingredients such as honeycomb and orange.

  • Choccy Rocky Kids Experience

5th, 19th, 26th August, 11;30am to 12:30pm

Join The Chocolate Manor in Castlerock for the tastiest kids experience on the North Coast this summer!

In this one hour kids only experience, participants will make three fabulous chocolate creations using the finest Belgian chocolate!

They will be offered a hot chocolate while their creations set and then package them up to take home and enjoy!

  • Summer Family Chocolate Experience

4th, 18th, 25th August, 11:30am to 1pm

Explore the wonderful world of chocolate with The Chocolate Manor’s Summer Family Chocolate Experience. Designed to ensure that everyone gets to make their chocolate dreams come true, this exclusive 90 minute family experience is suitable for groups of 4 participants and up, with children and young people aged 5 to 17 years old.

Every member of your family will make a selection of chocolate creations, ranging from lollipops, chocolate pizzas and personalised chocolate bars to moulded chocolates and filled/flavoured bars for the adults. Enjoy a hot chocolate whilst we share the mysterious story of where chocolate comes from and touch, see and smell real cocoa beans and a cocoa pod from Africa.

You can also ‘design your own chocolate postcard’ – upload a design/photo or use the design tool to create the ultimate personalised bar.

  • The Truffle Shuffle

21st August, 2pm to 4pm

The ultimate chocolate treat. What could be more sumptuous and splendid than handcrafting your own?


The Truffle Shuffle experience with Chief Chocolatier, Geri Martin will guide you through making moulded and hand-rolled truffles.  You will craft ganache, and flavour your own truffles, maybe even with a nip of your favourite tipple!


You will learn the process of tempering chocolate  – an essential skill for chocolate-making at home!  You will practice a range of decorating techniques and explore toppings and ways to make the tastiest truffles you’ve ever had!

  • Inquisitive Evenings

This summer sister and brother duo, Ciara Ohartghaile (Baker and Ursa Minor Founder) and Ewen Friers (Musician and Guide), will be hosting four unique events.

Short evening strolls with fresh local suppers and a focus on the untold stories, the curious histories and an alternative look at our fascinating corner of the world.

They’ll be chatting wildlife, foraging, heritage and culture hidden in plain sight, the diverse ties that bind us all and make our home so special, both locally and on the international stage.

Together you’ll cook up a tasty supper using local ingredients, enjoying the season’s best.

Saturday 27th August, 11am to 12noon

Get wild at the Nature Kid’s Club at Broughgammon Farm! Discover amazing things in nature, go on wild sensory walks and make nature crafts in this forest school inspired kid’s club. Adaptable for all ages but recommended from 3 -10 years old. Parents are required to stay with their child/children during the duration of the club. There is an onsite cafe, toilet facilities, shop and the farm is also open to wander around afterwards.

  • Summer Foraging Walk

Sunday 28th August, 11am to 12:30pm

Come to Broughgammon Farm and discover the delicious wild food that grows in the hedgerows, coppiced woodland, garden and meadows. Run by Dermot from Forage Ireland and Becky Cole, gardener and herbalist at Broughgammon Farm, you will learn how to safely forage for wild food, learn some of the folklore of plants and wild remedies that grow on our doorsteps. The walk starts at 11am and runs for about 2 hours. There are samples of wild food at the start of the event. The farm cafe and shop is open until 4pm.

  • Catch and Sea Tour – Portstewart

3rd, 6th, 10th, 17th, 31st August, 6:30am to 10am

The award-winning Catch and Sea® food  experience created by Wendy Gallagher, in collaboration with Boy Matthew Sea Fishing Trips & Warkes Deli offers visitors a totally different perspective of our stunning coastline.  This experience brings to life stories about our local landmarks, legends, wildlife, traditions, food heritage and people.

You will see first hand the sea passage our very first settlers to the island of Ireland took tens of thousands of years ago & learn about our unique food heritage from the River Bann.

Seeing coastal features & sea life up close; watching the sunrise; catching that fish and learning how to fillet it; lifting lobster pots; feeding the friendly, hungry, seabirds with fishy leftovers; taking pride in presenting your catch to the Chef.  Finally seeing it cooked for breakfast and sampling in conjunction with award-winning local produce you may have never tasted, or been aware of, before that day.

Experience the exceptional foodie culture of the Causeway Coast.  Enjoy this time together to eat, discover and take home an authentic taste of our beautiful place.

In a tour that lasts 6 hours, you become familiar with our heritage and culinary culture, taste our delicious local produce and meet the people behind this.  Wendy will encourage you to sit back, relax and savour the flavours that make this area so unique.

As you travel by luxury small coach through the area on a tour of 5 planned stops, you will experience the fresh outdoors and taste locally produced artisan foods, that have attracted many international awards. You will meet the makers at one of our local artisan markets, visit an exceptional farm & savour the world-famous Bushmills Whiskey, distilled in the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world.

Our producers will tell you of their history and experiences, how the produce is grown/reared and why they take such pride in it.

  • The Spirit of the Bann

Causeway Coast Foodie Tours is delighted to host you on a very special ‘The Spirit of the Bann’ river whiskey tasting experience; an ideal and unique opportunity to slowly savour distinctive colours and flavours, enjoy a warm glow and celebrate the beautiful blend of natural & man-made wonders our stunning Causeway Coast has to offer!

Where better to celebrate our unique food and drink heritage than via a journey on the River Bann alongside the beautiful site of Mountsandel, Coleraine.

We will retrace the voyages of our ancestors who settled here some 9,000 years ago; and travel by river with newly established local operators White River Charters, on their vintage vessel, ‘MV Kingfisher’. This glorious wooden boat was built by the world-renowned Harland and Wolff shipbuilders in the historic Belfast Shipyard (of Titanic fame!) and has been beautifully restored and tailored to provide visitors with a truly first-class visitor experience. There are many home comforts on board including covered & comfortable seating, cosy blankets and plenty of good cheer. Exploring the River Bann from the comfort of this style of boat allows you to immerse yourself in nature and absorb the sights and sounds of the changing season where the wooded riverbanks present a burst of vibrant seasonal colours and wildlife.

Tim, our whiskey connoisseur, will introduce you to a selection of whiskies produced by Bushmills Distillery – the oldest, licensed, whiskey distillery in the world, along with a special whiskey directly associated with the local area, all rich and full of flavour, with a unique depth of character. Tim will explain tasting notes of each while highlighting colour, age, blends, casks, nose, aromas and flavour notes and his selection will provide a variety of autumnal flavours including toffee, maple syrup, caramel, fruits & spices.

These world class whiskies will be accompanied by a hand-picked selection of award-winning local produce including charcuterie, cheeses, dipping oils & home-made chutneys from around the Causeway Coast.
