Blackrock House, a prestigious 5-star luxury bed and breakfast in Portrush, and Glenshane Country Farm, an acclaimed visitor attraction in Maghera, are thrilled to announce their partnership to create a bespoke gift for visitors to the farm.

The collaboration introduces an award-winning Irish Whiskey Fruit Cake, made by Nicola Neill, owner of Blackrock House Bed and Breakfast, now available in a specially designed gift box as a souvenir for visitors of Glenshane Country Farms’ immersive ‘Sheepdogs at Work Experience’.

The Irish Whiskey Fruit Cake - winner of both "Best Bushmills Cake" at the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival and the "Gold Innovation Award" from Invest NI, embodies a real taste of Northern Ireland culinary excellence and innovation. Crafted with passion the fruit cake perfectly captures the authentic taste of the Causeway Coast, infused with delightful Flavors of juicy sultanas, raisins, black tea, a hint of spice, and the sweet Sherry aromas of Blackbush whiskey.

Nicola noted that since teaming up with Jamese at Glenshane Country Farm, ‘Their visitors can now take home our rich, moist Irish Whiskey Fruit Cake presented in a bespoke gift box! Hand-baked in small batches, it's perfect to enjoy with a cuppa, sliced with butter for afternoon tea, or paired with cheese in a picnic. We have been making it for years for our own guests at my Bed and Breakfast and it is popular as a delicious treat or ideal gift, sharing the flavours of our home to theirs. It’s a lovely souvenir of their visit to the farm so we wanted to re-design the box to include the sheep and of course the sheepdogs.’

Nicola shared her inspiration behind working together: "Jamese and I first met back in 2022 at Tourism NI’s Giant Spirit Awards which sparked the idea of working with Glenshane Country Farm to see if they’d like a unique branded gift for their visitors. As a founding member of the food network group Taste Causeway, I saw the potential of offering something exclusive in food tourism combined with a souvenir for their amazing new Craft Barn shop and café. We have already been retailing our whiskey fruit cake locally, in hampers, as wedding favours and even shipped as corporate Christmas gifts to Texas, London and Hong Kong.”
