Taste Causeway Showcase at The Designerie during Salmon & Whiskey Festival

The Bushmills Salmon & Whiskey Festival takes place from Friday 6th October to Sunday 8th October to celebrate the food, drink and local heritage of the area.

There will be lots to look forward to including food demonstrations, entertainment, live music and fun activities for children to enjoy.

Some of our fantastic Taste Causeway members will be taking part in a showcase at The Designerie in Bushmills on Saturday and Sunday as part of the festival with demos, recipe inspiration, opportunities for tastings and plenty of craic!

Saturday 7th October

12:00pm

Wendy Dempster at The Lamb Van has taken the whiskey theme as inspiration for recipe dishes using her lamb ham, a finalist at this year’s Irish Food Awards.  Our local Shepherdess will be sampling and demonstrating the versatility of this beautifully cured ham with plenty of recipe ideas and cooking tips.  

1:00pm

Gin tasting and local food pairing with Paula McIntyre featuring her new gin.  Paula will also be signing copies of the Taste Causeway book “Recipes and Stories.”

2:00pm

Stephanie Neumann-Flynn from Partie de Moi will be launching her range of artisan spice blends at The Designerie, just in time for winter.  Atlantic Everything’s Seasoning and Omi Seasoning are perfect with fresh and smoked salmon, while a whiskey hot toddy is just waiting for a sprinkle of her Artisan Winter Spice or Artisan Sugar and Spice seasoning.

 

3:00pm

Glens of Antrim Crisps will be sampling their award-winning Shindig Whiskey and Shamrock flavoured crisps paired with a nip of Lir Irish Whiskey and plenty of whiskey stories and craic with Glens of Antrim Distillery.

Simon Hogg from Dunluce Distillery will be sampling both his Gins - The Shore Born Portballintrae Dry Gin and The Shore Berry Portballintrae Blackberry Gin as well as his Limoncello Lemon Liqueur and the brand NEW Arancello Orange Liqueur. 

 

Sunday 8th October

1:30pm

Gin tasting and local food pairing with Paula McIntyre featuring her new gin.  Paula will also be signing copies of the Taste Causeway book “Recipes and Stories.”

2:30pm

Niall McGinn, Head Chef and Creative Director at Dundarave Estate will be sampling their whiskey inspired products including BBQ sauce with whiskey, beetroot whiskey and dulce chutney, and the Great Taste award-winning Christmas pudding, best served with whiskey infused Chestnutt’s Farm fresh cream.
