Ursa Minor Bakehouse in Ballycastle is a member of the International Économusée Network, which is designed to showcase traditional crafts and help artisans tell their story. You can visit the bakehouse and learn a little about what Ursa Minor do, how they do it and why by following the storyboards downstairs.
Or you can book in for one of their popular sourdough workshops where the team will explain how they make their bread in more detail.

The class covers 3 different types of bread, using both sourdough culture and yeast. You will be guided through the process from scratch, learning tips and tricks along the way.

With expert guidance from Dara, Ursa Minor’s Head Baker you will be shown how to make and look after your Sourdough starter, methods of mixing and kneading and shaping styles. In this small class, there’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and chat about bread.
